Charge Points: How to Ease Your Transition into the Electric Revolution

At Fleet Evolution, we’re passionate about moving the UK’s drivers out of dirty diesel cars and into electric ones! We know from experience that if you have a drive or garage, nothing is more convenient than an electric car, provided your supplier supports you. But we don’t stop there. We go to great lengths to ensure that those without a drive or garage can also make the move to electric vehicles, with the support of their employers. The key to easing into electric motoring is simple… charge points!

Charging at Home

The easiest and cheapest way to charge is at home. By charging during your car’s natural downtime (overnight or at the weekends), you can top up conveniently and inexpensively, particularly if you’re taking advantage of some of the great EV-only tariffs out there, such as OVO’s Charge Anytime (just 7p/kWh), which equates to around 2p/mile.

We’ve partnered with Hypervolt!

To ensure all our customers have the best in-home charge points installed before their car arrives, we’ve partnered with Trustpilot’s highest-rated EV charging brand, Trustpilot. Combining beautifully engineered tech, 365 days-a-year customer support, and British manufacturing, these solar-compatible chargers ensure that the switch to EV is seamless. Plus, they look great on the outside of any home…

And with Fleet Evolution, you can roll the cost of your EV charger into your salary sacrifice contract.

Charging Out and About

About 50% of people cannot charge at home, and street charging can be sparse. However, many of the team can still go electric and charge while they’re out and about. For example, whilst shopping, at the gym, or even when eating. Sites like Zap-Map and OVO Charge Anywhere can show you charge points across the UK, as well as their status.

There is one place outside of the home where people spend a lot of time – at work, of course! Once five members of your team have taken electric cars, we ramp up the engagement. With your approval, we can give you a two-port 22kWh charger, adding 200 miles in 3 hours. To sanity check this, the typical employee drives 200 miles a week. So, 3 hours at the office could allow your colleagues to charge for a week’s worth of driving

Our Commitment to Electric Vehicles

We have unrivalled engagement in electric cars. We have focused on electric cars for over a decade and launched the UK’s first EV-dedicated salary sacrifice car scheme.
