NHS employees get some great benefits, one of which is their car scheme, which allows healthcare workers to get a vehicle through salary sacrifice, which ends up being cheaper and low effort.
Choosing the correct vehicle can be stressful and time-consuming, as it can impact your day-to-day life. The NHS car scheme can help reduce this hassle as it’s a flexible, tax-efficient way to get a vehicle that’s right for you.
In this guide, we break down everything you need to know about leasing a vehicle through your company’s benefits.
What Is The NHS Car Scheme?
The car scheme provided by the NHS allows the staff to get a company car through salary sacrifice, while including costs like:
- Insurance
- Maintenance
- Breakdown cover
- Service and MOT
This is all included in your monthly payments.

Key Features

- No deposit or credit checks needed for the drivers (usually).
- NHS payroll handles everything, so no hassle for you!
- Lots of choices are available, so you can choose a vehicle that fits your needs.
